Digital Tide Sensor
 
The KDS-121 from Komoline Electronics Pvt. Ltd is a smart sensor for the measurement of Tide in applications where a stilling well is available in a coastal tidal observatory. The KDS series sensors are developed indigenously using the state of the art technology and built to exacting specifications. They offer stable, accurate and reliable performance over long periods of time in the Indian conditions of environment.

The sensing of sea water level in this device is based on gage pressure measurement, by way of Ceramic MEMS Based or sapphire supported precision strain gage sensing elements of very good long-term stability and very low hysteresis. The sensor has a captive microprocessor and computes complex polynomials and uses proprietary algorithms developed for accurate reporting of the parameter value measured.

The digital interface of the sensor makes sure the data reaches the destination system without any degradation along the way by interference or noise of any kind. The sensors can be individually calibrated and the coefficients stored inside for imparting a tight interchangeability tolerance to the sensors.

The KDS series is multi-drop capable and unto 32 sensors of same or different parameters can be wired up in parallel and accessed through one industry standard RS485–UART port. The sensors include all necessary handshaking in the data string itself and do not need hardware handshaking (they use the null-modem connection).

The sensors are specifically designed to integrate into Komoline’s Range Data Loggers giving a completely indigenous but absolutely state of the art automatic data acquisition stations for high-accuracy in-situ applications.

Digital Wind Speed and Direction Sensor
 
The KDS-131 Anemometer includes both wind speed and wind direction sensors. Rugged components stand up to hurricane-force winds, yet are sensitive to a light breeze. It includes sealed stainless-steel bearings for long life. The range and accuracy specifications of this unit have been verified in wind-tunnel tests (information available upon request).

A model KDS-131 Anemometer reported wind speeds of 175 miles per hour before its tower collapsed during hurricane Andrew, 1992. Digital filtering, with time constant as specified below, is applied to wind direction measurements.

In areas where icing of the anemometer is a problem, use Anemometer Drip Rings to deflect water from the joint between moving parts.

Digital Integrating Wind Sensor
 
The KDS-137 from Komoline Electronics Pvt. Ltd is a smart sensor for the measurement of integrated wind parameters like averaged wind speed over long intervals, volume displacement of wind and other derived parameters. The KDS series sensors are developed indigenously using the state of the art technology and built to exacting specifications. They offer stable, accurate and reliable performance over long periods of time in the Indian conditions of environment.

The integrating wind sensor combines time tested IS compliant 3-cup anemometer mechanics with the latest advances in micropower electronics to provide continuous wind observation and deriving integrated parameters. The sensor is microprocessor based and computes the average speed and derived information like volume flow of wind information (in engineering units employing captively held calibration coefficients) and transmits the same on command.

Robust RS485 digital interface from the sensor makes sure the results reaches the destination with no interference or degradation, and quite independent of cable length. The sensors can be individually calibrated and the coefficients stored inside for achieving a tight interchangeability tolerance.

Digital Leaf Wetness Sensor
 
The KDS-151 from Komoline Electronics Pvt. Ltd is a smart sensor for the measurement of leaf wetness in agrimeteorology and greenhouse studies. The KDS series sensors are developed indigenously using the state of the art technology and built to exacting specifications. They offer stable, accurate and reliable performance over long periods of time in the Indian conditions of environment.

The wetness sensing is by way of fractional surface conductivity on a leaf simulator plate. The glass-epoxy plate carries gold plated interdigitated surface conductivity measuring patterns. An attached CPU can estimate the fractional wet area using a proprietary algorithm developed by KEPL. The results can be transferred through transfer functions if provided; linear and quadratic models are built in in the standard version. The unit can also return values corresponding to more than one transfer function, perhaps representing different types of leaves. The sensors can be individually calibrated for different situations if required and the coefficients stored inside.
