Weather Stations


Komoline’s weather stations are used in the Hydro-Meteorological, Agricultural, Industrial, Pollution, Marine, Bio-meteorological and Aviation fields among others. It also offers its customers a Do-it-yourself option for a customized weather station. The Automated Weather Station product range consists of Precision Sensors, Data-loggers, Transmitters, and Software, including integrated in-situ measurement equipment and solutions.
 
The company combines advanced micro-electronics technology and a decade of expertise in this field to provide reliable weather monitoring apparatus. Our core expertise is in the manufacture of Remote Automated Weather Stations, Agro-met Towers, MBLM-met Towers, 50-meter FLUX-met Towers, Tide Gauge Systems, and High Speed data acquisition systems.
 
The precision sensors measure air temperature, atmospheric pressure, dew density, soil temperature, wind speed and direction, solar radiation, conductivity & temperature, and various other parameters. Different types of data loggers, including multi parameter data loggers and high-speed data loggers, are available for automatically collecting data. Data is received via satellite earth stations, or a GSM data hub, or an ISM transceiver hub. To communicate with the weather stations, modems, transmitters, Wi-Fi or the Ethernet are used. The options to broadcast collected data include indoor & outdoor displays, IVR & IVS systems, and websites via the Internet. The flexibility to change sensor configurations, data processing, and data storage & retrieval options is also provided.
 
The rugged weather stations function in varying weather conditions to give the desired degree of accuracy, resolution, range, and update interval. These are equipped with solar panels and rechargeable batteries for continuous power supply along with necessary accessories such as mast, poles, fencing, lightning arrestor, and earthing.

Meteorological Weather Station

The Meteorological weather station from Komoline is used to observe short term weather systems lasting up to a few weeks. A study is conducted of the variable temperature, air pressure, and water vapour in the Earth's troposphere, the interactions of these variables, and how it changes over time.
 
The weather station is used to survey different spatial scales to determine how systems on neighbourhood, national, and global levels impact weather conditions. The complexity of equipment used is determined according to application requirements. Additional hardware and software can be installed onsite by the user to expand or adapt a station.
 
The indigenously built station is used for applications such as weather monitoring, flood monitoring & control, pollution monitoring, irrigation scheduling, water management, transport, defense, and non-conventional energy.
 

Hydro-Meteorological Weather Station

The Hydro-Meteorological Weather Station from Komoline is used to study the hydrologic cycle, the available water resources, and rainfall statistics. The station is also used to observe the transfer of water and heat between the land surface and the lower atmosphere over longer periods of time, in order to predict climate change.
 
The weather station collects, transmits, stores, and receives real-time hydro-meteorological data. Cutting-edge technology is used to make available accurate hydro-meteorological data from remote locations and under extreme weather conditions. The precision sensors enable gathering of accurate environmental information about many parameters such as temperature, wind patterns, rain, solar radiation, humidity, evaporation, and air quality. Based on the observations, forecasts are prepared on precipitation and expected rain.

Agricultural Weather Station

Komoline’s Agricultural Weather Station provides accurate, real-time weather data on a variety of parameters such as air & soil temperature, precipitation, barometric pressure, wind, radiation, and leaf wetness. Important features:

Pollution Weather Station

Komoline’s Pollution Weather Station provides crucial data about changes to the composition of the atmosphere. Pollution, or the addition of toxic material to the environment, impacts the weather, life in the ecosystem and natural resources. It causes global warming and depletion of the ozone layer. This leads to extreme weather conditions, melting of glaciers and harmful exposure to UV radiation.
 
It is essential to control and modify human activity that leads to an increase in pollution. Data collected by the pollution weather station is used by various agencies for regulatory monitoring, compliance monitoring and enforcement purposes.
 
 

Bio-Meteorological Weather Station

Komoline’s Bio-meteorological Weather Station is used to measure air quality, temperature, solar radiation and other parameters that provide insight into bio-meteorological problems. The problems may relate to food production, human health, protection of endangered flora and fauna or ensuring a comfortable environment for habitation. The data collected is also used to warn the public about hazardous air quality.
 
Bio-meteorology examines the interaction between plants, bio-aerosols, atmospheric processes and air quality. It overlaps other fields such as agronomy, atmosphere physics and chemistry, bioclimatology, environmental modeling, meteorology, microbiology and plant pathology. For instance, it is known that micro-organisms have an impact on atmospheric processes. Inert particles and air-borne micro-organisms are involved in precipitation and metabolization of chemicals. This modifies the atmosphere and affects the entire ecosystem. The Bio-meteorological weather station from Komoline studies the effect of such linkages on the atmosphere.

Komoline’s Aviation Weather Station is used to determine and collect real-time weather data that affects flying conditions. A variety of parameters such as wind speed, gust, and direction; variable wind direction; visibility, and variable visibility; temperature; precipitation; and cloud cover are observed.

Highway Weather Station

Komoline’s Highway Weather Station is used to observe surface and ground temperature, air temperature, relative humidity, precipitation, wind speed and direction, horizontal visibility along traffic routes and other parameters that affect road traffic.
 
The weather station has a modular design for flexible system configuration and easy expansion when needed. It can be used in conjunction with a traffic monitoring system to monitor and regulate highway traffic. The compact, rugged station is easily installed by the roadside on any existing lighting post, traffic signals or buildings without halting traffic.
