Komoline’s Aviation Weather Station is used to determine and collect real-time weather data that affects flying conditions. A variety of parameters such as wind speed, gust, and direction; variable wind direction; visibility, and variable visibility; temperature; precipitation; and cloud cover are observed.
The complexity of equipment used is determined according to application requirements. Additional hardware and software can be installed onsite by the user to expand or adapt monitoring options. The aviation weather station can send data in different ways to the same or different locations.
The collected data is used by meteorologists, flight dispatchers and aviation authorities to prepare and monitor weather forecasts, plan flight routes, provide vital information for smooth takeoff and landing of flights, and support aircraft operations. Users include:
